Print on the Go With ZUtA’s Mini Robotic Printer

By Ashley Troutman @MissAshleyTv · On June 13, 2017

ZUtA Labs has created a mobile robotic printer that allows you to print anywhere you are. The mobile printer is small enough to fit in just one hand and is about 4-inches wide.

The printer easily rolls back and forth over paper to create your image, according to the company. And it’s fast; this device can print a document in about a minute. The printer integrates with an app so it’s able to print directly from your phone. It’s compatible with Android, Windows and iOS.

With just one ink cartridge, the device can print about 100 pages, the company reported. And it can print on paper of any size. However, it can only produce black and white images so forget about color. For now.

“Equipped with a unique mechanical drive system, WiFi connectivity for connecting to mobile devices and a battery that provides a full hour of printing, this little printer is not limited to standard paper sizes,” according to ZUtA’s website.

The device is ideal for those who “want to be able to print wherever they are,” the company’s CEO and founder Tuvia Elbaum told TechCrunch. “Even if they are in the office, they are still working from their laptop or their smartphone.”

Despite people’s efforts to decrease their carbon footprint by minimizing how much they print, Elbaum said there will be various uses for this device. Photos, event tickets and packaging labels are predicted to be printed most with the ZUtA printer.

The device comes with a remote control, which Elbaum believes will attract developers who will be able to create apps that go with the printer, like games and art tutorials, according to TechCrunch.

Want one? They aren’t on shelves yet, but you can expect to see them retailing for about $299 in Q4 of this year. Those who backed this project on Kickstarter will be able to get their hands on one for about $199.
