Pack Up and Go with the Hover Camera Passport

By Nate Lewis · On December 13, 2016

The past few years have seen drone technology evolve from a fringe curiosity to something you probably expect to see at the park. With this increased popularity, drone manufacturers seem to have become a little too eager, cramming every possible function onto the little guys. This trend sometimes yielded an expensive and often clumsy product, succumbing to weighty designs and hastily assembled features. In response to that growing trend, Chinese start-up Zero Zero Robotics, decided to scale things down a bit. Like really scale them down…

The new Hover Camera Passport from Zero Zero is just barely over half a pound and can be folded into something about the size of um… a passport. With its included carrying case and its lightweight nature, there’s really nothing stopping you from taking this nifty gadget out camping, on a picnic, or just about anywhere. Weighing in at just 242 grams, the Passport is exempt from mandatory FAA registration so you can starting using it right out of the box.

A couple standout features make this drone something to keep in mind for your next (or possibly first) drone. The protective carbon fiber casing surrounding the propellers make it highly unlikely that anyone will be injured and that run-ins with obstacles don’t always result in crashes. In terms of on-board technology, the Passport’s mounted camera allows you to take 4K video and 13MP photos with the added feature of face and body tracking abilities. With this, you can easily track yourself, filming any of your activities, whether that’s surfing, biking, or just going for a walk in the woods. The drone is included with three battery packs with each one providing ten minutes of power. It takes roughly 40 minutes to fully charge a pack, so it always helps to have a couple extras on hand. The full package includes the drone itself, a protective case, a case strap, a carrying bag, a charger, a rechargeable lip battery pack, adapter, USB cable, propellers, screwdriver, and instructional documents.

Whether you’re looking for a nifty little spy gadget, the world’s longest selfie stick, or just a great toy to take to the park, the Hover Camera Passport is sure to keep you entertained. The Hover Camera Passport is currently going for $599.
