So you’re headed to France for that vacation you’ve always wanted to take and all you have in your French arsenal is vule vous avec moi? We hear you. Meet ili. It’s a wearable translator that works in seconds.
The device can be used anywhere, at any time without an internet connection. Wow. Simply push and hold the center button to begin speaking and lift your finger when you’re done.
The proprietary voice streaming translation system, dubbed STREAM, translates words in just .2 seconds. Plus, it’s loaded with a library of travel phrases that are often used, which helps with eliminating translation errors.
I mean, who wants to ask for the best restaurant in town and end up in the public restroom?
And it’s not just travelers who can benefit. The uses for this wearable are endless. Hotels can rent out ili to their guests, malls can allow shoppers to use it, and amusement park goers can benefit as well. However, the company doesn’t recommend it for business negotiation or medical uses.
The device translates English, Chinese and Japanese. Thai, Korean and Spanish are expected next.
This will be available for businesses in June of 2017, and the company is taking 100 early adopters. If you’d like updates directly from them, take advantage of their email newsletter. Click here to sign up.
