Creators of the eTape16 recently sent us a sample of their digital tape measure and while it acts like a regular tape measure, it boasts several useful features that a typical tape measure does not.
The eTape16 boasts a digital display at the top that starts calculating the second you start to pull the tape out. It provides exact measurements with ease and can switch between inches, centimeters and feet, plus feet and inches with fractions! Anyone doing construction or carpentry work would really appreciate that. It’s also capable of converting measurements from imperial or American to metric and vice-versa.
There’s a hold button on the device that will save a reading for you until you push the hold button again. The device also boasts two memory buttons for saving calculations for a longer period of time if necessary.
It can also calculate the halfway point of an object in seconds, so if you’re trying to cut something in half you don’t have to do any math first. It can also find a center-point in a heartbeat, so you can hang a picture without making tons of holes in your wall.
The eTaoe16 also has an inside/outside feature that allows you to include the device into your measurement, which means you won’t have to bend your tape measure at the corner of a cabinet or wall to try to get a precise number.
It features a lock function, but that’s pretty standard for measuring tape. The product requires a single dime-sized battery and will cost you less than 30 bucks to get it in your toolbox!
