Computer-Controlled Spray Paint Can Help You Create Almost Any Design

By Ashley Troutman @MissAshleyTv · On October 2, 2017

Look out Banksy; the SprayPrinter is a new product that allows users to spray paint like a pro. This tool is a clip-on accessory with the ability to morph a can of spray paint into a handheld printer that can recreate practically any design.

Once you’ve ordered your own unit, simply download the company’s app and then choose an image you want to replicate. Ensure your phone is set up on a stable platform or tripod and get to work. Keep in mind that you’ll have to switch cans for different tones.

The SprayPrinter knows exactly where to release paint, according to the company’s website, as it communicates with your phone via Bluetooth and an LED-light on the printer. Once a user has selected an image, it’s printed layer by layer and pixel and pixel, the company reported.

This unique tool connects digital and analogue, and you can use as many colors as you’d like.

“It’s like a coloring book that keeps you inside the lines so you don’t have to worry about ruining your wall,” according to the company.

The hardware is made of two parts: the SprayPrinter attachment for a spray paint can, which controls the nozzle and releases small amounts of paint to create an image pixel by pixel and a smartphone. The smartphone is responsible for converting and sending images to the SprayPrinter. Not to mention that the phone also utilizes its camera to follow the position of the device constantly so it’s able to let the attachment know when it’s time to release the dots of the paint. This means any quick moves may mess up the masterpiece you’re trying to create.

“The other big part of the printer is the mechanics. Our core innovation is the fast acting electromagnetic valve that can open and close up to 200 times per second. This means you can print up to 200 pixels per second giving you the freedom to move your hand freely just as you would with a regular paintbrush,” the company’s website said.

The SprayPrinter1 is currently sold out and the SprayPrinter2 will be available in March of 2018. Click here to see pricing and check if they’re back in stock.

“SprayPrinter has brought together the brightest minds in the industry to completely reinvent the way how we think about and design our visual surroundings. We have created a wireless printing core technology,” according to the company’s website.

Graffiti will never be the same.
